Parker T. Shaw, PhD

Oklahoma Licensed Counseling Psychologist 

Dr. Shaw has been a part of the Tulsa community for over 15 years and joined TFDC in 2017. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree, Master of Science (School Psychometry), Master of Science (Educational Psychology), and Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Counseling Psychology from Oklahoma State University. He conducted his internship at the Oklahoma Health Consortium/OU Health Sciences Center. Dr. Shaw received the Indian Health Services (IHS) Psychology Scholarship for Native American students pursuing careers in mental health. Dr. has taught college courses on conceptualization & diagnosis of mental health disorders, group therapy, vocational psychology and has conducted research using superheroes in therapy, among other professional activities. 

Dr. Shaw's expertise involves psychoeducational, psychological, and neuropsychological evaluations for various presenting topics including ADHD, Learning Disorder, concussion/traumatic brain injury screening, dementia screening, presurgical psychological screening (e.g. bariatric surgery, osteopathic surgery, etc.) and general evaluation of psychological well-being. 

Dr. Shaw believes the most important factor required for counseling is building a strong therapeutic alliance. Dr. Shaw works with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families from an evidence-based and humanistic perspective. He specializes in anxiety (cognitive & behavioral) management, college preparation (transitioning away from home), depression, grief counseling, health issues, sports/performance psychology,  LGBTQ issues and support, multiculture/Native American issues, and trauma.
